Jeremiah 33: 3
“Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have now known.”
Reading this verse in the morning today, the words “I will tell you” caused me to pause and meditate. That that the Lord God, a superior Being, to wants to tell humans anything is incredible. He simply wants us to ask with a true and repentant heart.
When He says “great and hidden things that you have not known,” it reminds me of the limited knowledge I truly have – that the collective humanity owns. “Great and Hidden” – that has a beautiful ring to it. The verse, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” Proverbs 25:2.
The Lord God made all things beautiful and some things are hidden. Currently – the Gospel is not one of those great things that are hidden but other things (mysteries) are. Seeking God through conflict is one way “great and hidden” things are revealed. Deep in the realm of prayer are the cries of those suffering, seeking wisdom, guidance and comfort. This is one place where the Lord God reveals the next step – the way forward as He calms the mind and spirit.
